The Association of International Accountants (AIA), the global body for professional accountants are delighted to be playing a significant role in the inaugral Brands for Good awards. The recognition programme has been introduced to recognise and honour forward-looking regional Asian brands that have incorporated and actualised purpose-driven values that benefit different groups of stakeholders.
AIA Council Member, Michael Chow, will be one of the eight judges on the esteemed panel, which also includes Professor Foo See Liang, Associate Professor (Practice) at the School of Accountancy, Singapore Management University.
CEO Asia is the organiser for the inaugural Brands For Good event in Singapore. The recognition programme sponsored by Maybank Singapore and BBX, aims to champion corporate social responsibility (CSR) and recognise forward-looking businesses, particularly Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), which are committed to being stewards of positive impact.
Brands For Good aims to champion corporate social responsibility and to recognise & motivate forward-looking businesses particularly successful SMEs which have or are committed in making a positive & sustainable difference in the society/community they operate in three board categories namely the Environment, the Community and the Workplace throughout the whole organization. These include contributions to the community, workplace and environment.
The Brands for Good award categories span three major spheres – the Workplace, the Community and the Environment – and will include Fair Employment Practices, Workplace Culture and Communications, Workplace Safety, People Development, Diversity and Inclusion, Social Giving and Engagement, Local Market Empowerment, Responsible Supply Chains, Sustainable Resource and Environmental Impact Management.
Commenting on the upcoming awards, Michael Chow, said: “It is great honour to be invited to participate as one of the eight judges for the inaugral “Brand for Good” awards. The event will showcase brands who believe passionately about working towards a sustainable future inclusive of economic & CSR goals, social development and environmental protection. All causes which are close to my heart and fundamental in the overall ethos of the AIA.
“As a leading membership organisation and recognised qualifying body AIA believe passionately that financial and accountancy related organisations can and will play a pivotal role in areas such as CSR, social and economic development.

The grand dinner gala for the awards will be held at the prestigious Marina Bay Sands Convention hall on 26 July.
