On 7 December 2017 the AIA attended the IAB and IAAP UK International Business and Skills Awards at the House of Commons in London. In partnership with Lloyds Bank, AMLCC and several other notable sponsors, the awards reward outstanding individuals, students and businesses within the accountancy industry.

The final award of the night, the Vivienne Burrows Award for Longstanding Commitment to the IAB, was presented to Beryl Shephard. Beryl has been a Fellow Member of the AIA for many years.

Attending the event, AIA Chief Executive, Philip Turnbull, said: “Beryl has been a close friend to the AIA for many years and was made a Fellow member with us a few years ago. I would like to congratulate her both personally, and on behalf of the AIA, on receiving such a prestigious award”.

During the event Philip Turnbull also met with long-term AIA partner and event sponsor, AMLCC and FA Simms. Commenting after the event, Philip said: “Events like this are great for networking and building new relationships, but also just as importantly for maintaining the longstanding relationships we have built up over many years.”

AMLCC were awarded the Accountancy Software of the Year at the AIA President’s Dinner & Dinner on 5 October 2017.
