The Association of International Accountants (AIA), the global body for professional accountants were delighted to once again sponsor the Hong Kong National Day Celebration Dinner for the Accountancy profession. The dinner took place on Tuesday 04 September 2018 in the Convention Hall at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Hong Kong.

The National Day Celebration Dinner is an important annual event for the accounting profession, and with over 700 guests attending, this year’s celebrations were once again a great success.

The guests of honour for this years event were Tan Tieniu, Deputy Director, the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the HKSAR; Yang Yirui, Deputy Commissioner, Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China in the HKSAR; and Joseph Chan, Acting Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury.

Other official guests for the evening included local and PRC government officials; counterparts in Mainland; academia and representatives from other professional accountancy bodies.

Commenting on the evening, AIA Chief Executive, Philip Turnbull, said: “AIA were delighted to once again be invited to sponsor this special annual event for the accounting and finance profession.

“Working closely with HKICPA on events such as the National Day Celebration Dinner demonstrates our ongoing commitment to support and further develop the accountancy profession within both Hong Kong and Mainland China.”
