The Association of International Accountants (AIA), the global body for professional accountants last night (19 December) supported the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) Reception for International Trade addressed by Rt Hon. Greg Hands MP and Mark Garnier MP.
The All-Party Parliamentary Groups (APPGs) are informal cross-party groups, run by and for Members of the Commons and Lords, though many choose to involve individuals and organisations from outside Parliament in their administration and activities.
AIA champion the importance of securing investment in the UK from international trading partners and the benefits of exporting a UK regulated professional qualification.
Speaking after the event Philip Turnbull, AIA Chief Executive, said: “AIA works with government and education stakeholders to increase the availability and recognition of the AIA professional qualification and it is encouraging to note the importance the UK government places on professional bodies exporting qualifications abroad.
“AIA has been active in reaching out across the world and as we enter our 90th anniversary year in 2018 we continue to plan and implement the expansion of qualifications and the benefits of professional membership across the world.”
